She was the daughter of the late Pink and Effie Hogsed Ledford. She was a pianist and organist for various churches and enjoyed reading the Bible. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, sewing, and knitting, but is best remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, loved ones stated.

MONROE – Martha Stinchcomb Gaddis Garrett, 89, died Thursday, May 16, 2013.
She was the daughter of the late Giley and Essie Allen Stinchcomb. A native of Winder, she loved spending time with her family, was a Fox News enthusiast, and loved listening to her public safety scanner. She was a member of the Commerce Church of God, and will be remembered as always selfless and never complaining. Mrs. Garrett was preceded in death by husbands, James William Gaddis and Ernest Lee Garrett; sons, Bobby Gene Gaddis and Jimmy Garrett; four brothers; and three sisters.

WINDER – Charles “Charlie” Kilpatrick, 82, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013.
He was the son of the late Bryant Whitfield and Marie Kilpatrick. Mr. Kilpatrick was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene Smith Kilpatrick.
During his life he worked as a probation officer for Georgia’s Pardons and Paroles. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was an active member of the Winder First United Methodist Church and the Methodist Men’s Club. He was also a member of the Winder Kiwanis Club and the Lion’s Club. Golfing and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were among his favorite things to do.
Survivors include three sons, Wesley (Harriet) Kilpatrick, Winder, Barry Kilpatrick (fiancé Tonya Wood), Hoschton, and Eric (Lisa) Kilpatrick, Olney, Md.; sister, Dorothy McBrayer, Canton; eight grandchildren, Brandon Kilpatrick, Greer, S.C., Brian Kilpatrick, Winder, Dean and Ella Kilpatrick, Olney, Md., Adam (Kim) Kilpatrick, Loganville, Leah Hannaford, Raeford, N.C., Jett Bowen, Athens, and Jori Bowen, Oakwood; and one great-grandchild, Joshua Hannaford.

He was born in Bronx, N.Y. He moved to South Florida in 1955 and in 2005, upon his retirement from Peterson Industries in Miami, he moved to Winder. In addition to his family he loved Miami Hurricanes football and was a season ticket holder for over 20 years. He loved sports, riding his John Deere lawnmower, tending his garden, watching Meet the Press and 60 Minutes, spoiling his kitties T-Bone and Karma. He was the most liberal Republican you will ever meet.
Survivors include his loving wife Melody Donovan, Winder; loving sons, Scott Sutton, Tampa, Fla., and Clint Sutton, Hollywood, Fla.; loving step children, Ann Harrison (Michael) and Charles Donovan, both of Jefferson; three grandsons, Joe Sutton and Jon Sutton, Tampa, Fla., and Michael C.
