COMER – Nora Lucille Parham, 98, died Friday, April 10, 2009.
A native of Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Lee and Imogene Jones Beusse. She was a seamstress and was a member of Meadow Baptist Church, where she had a perfect attendance for 35 years. Mrs. Parham was proceeded in death by her husband, William Claud Parham; son, Donald Clinton Parham; daughters, Annette and Christine Parham.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Gene (Sylvia) Parham, Joe Parham, Larry (Dianne) Parham; daughters and sons-in-law, Laquita (Calvin) Bridges, Kathryn (James) Tolbert, 13 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

DANIELSVILLE – Clarence Hall, 80, died Saturday, April 25, 2009.
A native of Franklin County, he was the son of the late Thomas Welborn and Sally Ware Hall. He was retired from Barber Coleman Controls after 20 years of service, and was a veteran, having served in the United States Army. He was a mason for 58 years, a member of the Pipe Fitters Union from 1953 until 1991, and was a former deacon at Danielsville Baptist Church. He was a member of Colbert Baptist Church for many years. Mr. Hall was preceded in death by brothers, Jerry Hall, Robert Hall and George Hall; and a great-grandchild, Rhett Thomas Myers.

DANIELSVILLE – Willie Robert “Bob” Shelnut, 76, died Saturday, April 25, 2009.
A native of Madison County, he was the son of the late Thomas Henry and Willie Lois Murray Shelnut. He retired from the United States Air Force after 22 years, then he worked in Washington, DC for many years. After retirement, he moved to a farm in Madison County.
Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Mark and Grace Shelnut, Bogart, and Willie Robert Shelnut II, Virginia; brothers, Dan Shelnut, Atlanta, Hoyt Shelnut, Athens, and Roger Shelnut, Montgomery, Ala.; and two grandchildren.
No services are planned at this time. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was a deacon emeritus at Pleasant Grove Baptist church, where he was a member for over 50 years, was a Mason in Mt. Vernon Lodge 22, member of Athens Shrine Club #1 and the Yaarab Shrine Temple, Athens Piedmont Scottish Rite Association, Valley of Atlanta Scottish Rite, and 32nd Degree Scottish Rite, Athens Chapter 268 OES Eastern Star, and past president of the Whitehead Civitan Club in Athens. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps Division, serving in World War II, and retired from International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 613.
Survivors include children, George and Betty Guest, Mt. Airy, and Jane Kittle and fiancé, Jerry Stafford, Hull; brother and sister-in-law, Jake and Louise Guest, Athens; grandchildren, Donna Guest, Laura Guest, Tommy Guest, Becky Guest, Corbin Kittle and Brian Kittle.

She was a retired seamstress and member of the Evangelical Methodist Church, the Evangelical Methodist Church Young at Heart Club, and the Happy Traveler’s Club. Mrs. Sexton was preceded in death by her husband, Bud C. Sexton; son-in-law, Gary Tolbert; brothers, Alfred, John L., Buford and Billy Carey; sisters, Allie Dudley, Cornelia “Nita” Ginn, Hester Sartain and Gladell Sexton; and a granddaughter, Pamela Sexton.
