Rev. Luther Clinton Campbell, 79, of Lula, died Tuesday, December 9, 2008, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, following an extended illness.
Rev. Campbell was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Campbell; daughter, Linda Faye Campbell; and grandchildren, Benji Ferguson and Patience Whitfield.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Randall and Renay Campbell, Lula, Charles and Theresa Campbell, Alto; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Billy Whitfield, Libby and Gary Tanner, Betty and Kenneth Parson, all of Gillsville; brothers, Roger Campbell and Jessie Campbell, both of Commerce, Homer Campbell, Baldwin; sisters, Lucille Rigsby, Lula, and Mattie Carter, Murrayille; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and god children, George and Cathy Holleger, Gainesville.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 6, at 2 p.m., at Silver Shoals Baptist Church with the Revs. Joel Shadburn, Dennis Taylor, Clarence Reynolds, Roy Clark and Trent Campbell officiating, with the Revs. Perry Smith, Tim Beasly and Swayne Cochran officiating at the graveside. The body will be at the residence, 2447 Yonah/Homer Rd., Lula, Thursday afternoon until the funeral hour.

Charles Thurston Fields, 87, of Danielsville, died Saturday, November 29, 2008, at Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens.
Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Leonard and Ruby Kittle Fields. He was employed as a building supervisor and was a United States veteran of World War II. He was a member of V.F.W. Mitchell Fields Post 2872, and the American Veterans Post 10 Athens. Mr. Fields was preceded in death by a son, Herman Fields.
Survivors include his wife, Opal Matthews Fields, Danielsville; sons, Jimmy Fields, Nicholson, Johnny Fields, Danielsville, Jerry Fields, Hull; sisters, Virginia Grammer and Ellie Mae Shedd, both of Macon; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Lee Walker, 72, of Cornelia, died Thursday, November 27, 2008, at her residence, following an extended illness.
Born in Wilkes County on December 8, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Cora Wheeles Walker. She was a retired underwriter with Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company with 20 plus years of dedicated service and was a longtime member of Buford Highway Baptist Church in Doraville. She enjoyed making ceramics, traveling and photography. Ms. Walker was always willing to lend a helping hand to family and neighbors and will be missed dearly. She was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Mack Webb and Ray Stephens.
Survivors include sisters and brothers-in-law, Thelma Webb, Clarkesville, Helen W. Stephens, Maysville, Betty and Gene Bustard, Greenville, S.C., and Jackie and John Billue, Cornelia; and several nieces and nephews.

Tommy Roger Hendrix, 67, of Royston, died Monday, November 24, 2008, at his residence.

Mr. Fambrough was preceded in death by sisters, Ruth Boyd and Sara Wiley; and brothers, Burton Fambrough and Horace Fambrough.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Garner Fambrough, Winder; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was a retired bus driver from Greyhound Corporation and was a member of the Midway United Methodist Church. He was former president of Amalmated Transit Authority, a member of the Masonic Lodge, and a gentleman farmer. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Henderson was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Sue House Henderson, wife Mary Evelyn Chandler Henderson; daughter, Janet Pratt; brothers, Howard Henderson, Lawrence Henderson and John Henderson.
Survivors include sons, the Rev. William S. “Sam” Henderson III, Newnan, Joe E. Kay S. Cochran, 45, of Dahlonega, died Monday, October 27, 2008, at her residence.
She was the daughter of Emily Simmons of Alto and the late Branson Heard Simmons.
Mrs. Cochran was the sister of Wendell Simmons of Alto, Kenneth Simmons of Banks County and Karen Pope of Jefferson.
