Ruth Fortson

Ruth Adams Fortson, 94, of Danielsville, died Saturday, January 3, 2009, at the BJC Hospital in Commerce.

Born in Madison County on July 31, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Gillian Strickland Adams. She was a homemaker and member of the Shiloh Baptist Church.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Howard Minish, Commerce, and Faye and Ellis Nash, Danielsville; grandchildren, Judy Minish Burkos, James Howard Minish, Rosetta Minish, Elaine Nash Belfield, Teresa Nash and Nelson Nash; nine great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, January 5, at the Shiloh Baptist Church with the Rev. Glenn Guest officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, was in charge of arrangements.
