L.C. Chambers, 69, of Comer, died Thursday, January 1, 2009.
Born on July 20, 1939, he was the son of the late Ralph and Ardell Chambers. He was a member and deacon of Macedonia Holiness Church and was retired from the Forestry Unit of Madison County after 34 years. Mr. Chambers was preceded in death by a sister, Daisy Mae Bailey; and a niece, Debra Barber.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Reba Chambers; brother and sister-in-law, Mickey and Hazel Chambers; sister, Patricia Scarboro; nieces, Teresa Hilburn, Tracy Dean and Michelle Rice; several great-nieces and nephews; and beloved great-nephew, Bucky Dean.
Funeral services were will be held Sunday, January 4, at 2 p.m., at Macedonia Holiness Church with the Revs. Kendall Callaway and Jack Ross officiating. Burial will be in the Meadow Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kevin Dean, Kyle Dean, Eddie Hilburn, Gary Holloway, Mike Holloway and Lloyd Holloway Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be the Hardees Breakfast Club and Deacons of Macedonia Holiness Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m.
