Donald Lord, 70, of Nicholson, died Monday, December 29, 2008, at Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens.

Born in Madison County, he was the son of the late William French and Almera O’Kelly Palmer. He was a retired truck driver and a veteran, having served in the United States Air Force.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Nevelyn Kennebrew Lord, Nicholson; a daughter, Dana Lynn Moore, Commerce; son, Keith Lord, Nicholson; brother, Harry Palmer, Watkinsville; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 31, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Revs. Mike Stowers and Dennis Kesler officiating. Burial will be in the Howington Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m.

Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
