Wanda Anthony Giddens, 51, of Madison County, died Friday, December 26, 2008, at her residence due to a sudden illness.
She was the daughter of Ruth Bagwell Anthony and the late Roger Anthony. She was a dedicated caretaker of her mother and will always be remembered for her love of flowers and animals, especially her three dogs, Georgia, Peanut and Cody. Mrs. Giddens was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Anthony Hill.
Survivors in addition to her mother, include her husband, Steve Giddens, Madison County; a daughter, Christi Anthony, Madison County; step-children, Shauna and Lee Giddens, Madison County; and four grandchildren, all of Madison County; brothers, Vaughn Howington Sr. and Jimmy Anthony, both of Commerce; sisters, Julie Cooper, Maysville, Debbie Benton, Madison County, and Frances Barrett, Commerce; and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 31, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home. Burial will be in Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Those who plan to attend the funeral are asked to dress casually.
