‘Ann’ Moss

Annie M. “Ann” Shelton Kelly Moss, 84, of Hartwell, died Friday, December 26, 2008, at Hart County Hospital.

Born on May 15, 1924, in Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Lena Sanders Shelton. She was retired from Singer-Ryobi, Anderson Plant, as a machine operator, and was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church. Mrs. Moss was preceded in death by two husbands, John L. Kelly Sr. and Julian Moss; sisters, Ada Collins, Bessie Bulloch and Lessie Burroughs; and brothers, James Shelton and John Henry Shelton.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Jimmy Stone, Hartwell; son, Lewis Kelly, Hartwell; brothers, Robert Shelton, Hull, Henry Shelton, Comer, and Bill Shelton, Athens; sisters, Lorene Porterfield, Comer, and Lucille Pruitt, Anderson, S.C.; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, December 29, in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home, Hartwell, with the Rev. Joe Black officiating. Burial was in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

Strickland Funeral Home, Hartwell Chapel, Hartwell, was in charge of arrangements.
