John Henry Finello, 81, of Royston, died Monday, December 29, 2008, at Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens.
Born in Westwood, N.J., on July 20, 1927, he was the son of the late Ralph and Anne Dickel Finello. He was a retired machinist, having worked with the Miami Herald. He was a member of the Royston First United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Crusader’s Sunday School Class. Mr. Finello was a United States Coast Guard veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Roberta Finello, Royston; daughters and sons-in-law, Nanci & David Brown, Spotswood, N.J., and Janet and Larry Brown, Royston; son and daughter-in-law, John and Connie Finello, Royston; grandchildren, Elizabeth Allred, Jennifer Brown, Jonathan Brown, Michael Finello and Samantha Finello; great-granddaughter, Brittany Allred; nieces and spouse, Barbara and Paul Hilf and Kathleen Miller; great-nephew and spouse, Lee and Catherine Goldman; and a great-great-niece, Natalie Goldman.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 31, at 3:30 p.m., at the Royston First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mac Enfinger officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
