Billy Nix

Billy Nix, 73, of Pendergrass, died Friday, December 26, 2008.

A native of West Virginia, he was the son of the late Ola Lance and Bill Nix. He was retired from the poultry industry and was a member of Pond Fork Baptist Church. Mr. Nix was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Nix; sister, Mary Casper; and a grandson, Justin Nix.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel Funderburke Nix, Pendergrass; daughters, Patricia Parson, Commerce, Debbie Gillespie, Pendergrass; sons, Donald Nix and Ronald Nix, both of Pendergrass; sisters, Sue Duke and Cora Mae Childs, both of Royston, Shirley McDaniel, Winder, 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 28, at 2 p.m., in the Pond Fork Baptist Church with the Revs. Johnny Knight and M.A. Poole officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from 1:30 to 2 p.m. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 26, from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, December 27, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
