John Myril Ivester, 67, of Royston, died Saturday, December 20, 2008, at his residence.
Born in Stephens County on July 5, 1941, he was the son of the late Vernon Owen and Florence Dooley Ivester. He was a woodworker in the furniture business and attended Goldmine Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lucile Hill Ivester, Royston; sons, Bobby Ivester, Toccoa, and Richard Ivester, Orlando, Fla.; step-sons, Billy R. and Richard T. Vickery, both of Royston, and Larry D. Vickery, Jacksonville, Fla.; step-daughters, Shirley Kaiser, Bowersville, Linda Moore, Carnesville, Sandra Sheridan, North Dakota, Becky Stovall and Patsy Taylor, both of Danielsville, and Tammy Brown, Royston; brothers, Wade Ivester, Toccoa, and Jimmy Ivester, Marietta; a sister, Dolores McKnatt, Wetumpka, Ala.; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 22, in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Kaiser officiating. Burial was in the Eastanollee Baptist Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
