Clifford P. Palmer, 86, of Loganville, died Sunday, June 8, 2008, at the Our Heritage Residential Care Home.
He was born in Oglethorpe County, the son of the late William Oscar and Annie Barnett Palmer. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army during World War II and was a retired State of Georgia Wildlife Ranger for 34 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Mr. Palmer was preceded in death by a son, Paul Palmer; brothers, George Palmer and Charlie William Palmer; and sisters, Cathel Chester, Annie Ruth Ward and Billie Frances Palmer.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Lovell Palmer, Loganville; sons, Jeff Palmer, Loganville, Peter Palmer, San Antonio, Texas, and Rex Palmer, Auburn; a brother, John Palmer, Nicholson; sisters, Hilda Watkins and Myrtle Fouche, both of Nicholson, Lottie Moore, Jacksonville, Fla., Ruby Borkman, Alpharetta, Linda Middleton, Hayesville, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 12, at 3 p.m., at River of Life Worship Center in Nicholson with the Revs. Mike Stowers and Vernon Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Howington Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 11, from 7 to 9 p.m.
