Johnny J. “Dumpy” Cruce, 59, of Maysville, died Wednesday, December 17, 2008.
Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Thomas Alvin and Doris Gaynelle Shelton Cruce. He was a maintenance worker with Vulcan Materials Rock Quarry.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Cruce, Maysville; sons and daughter-in-law, Gary Cruce, Chad and Casey Cruce and Marty Cruce, all of Maysville; sisters, Mary Ledford, Homer, Lonie Pressley and Dora Griffin, both of Jefferson; brother, Jesse Cruce, Maysville; and grandchildren, Caden Cruce and Hailey Cruce.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 20, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Winfred Bingham officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Fork Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, is in charge of arrangements.

Passed away just 2 days after his grandaughter was born. Never got to see her. Loved by some, missed by many!!
