Laura Rooks, 71, of Winder, died Saturday, December 13, 2008.
Born in Barrow County, she was the daughter of the late Othal C. and Floy Holliday Casper. She was Baptist and attended Eastside and Fellowship Baptist Church. She was a volunteer for the Big A Club. Mrs. Rooks was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jimmy” Rooks; and siblings, James Casper, Maryanne Griffeth and Jean Brown.
Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Michael Rooks, Winder, Mark and Sharon Rooks, Isle of Palms, S.C.; daughter and son-in-law, Jimmieann and Jimmy Turner, Statham; and grandchildren, David Turner, Matthew and Benjamin Rooks.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 16, at 2 p.m., at Smith Memory Chapel with the Revs. James Helton and Joe Brock officiating. Burial will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens.
