Ladye Brown, 93, of Royston, died Friday, December 12, 2008, at the Cobb Memorial Hospital in Royston.
She was born in Hart County on January 29, 1915, the daughter of the late Asa Chandler and Nancy Sewell Brown. She attended the GSCW in Milledgeville and then attended the University of Georgia, where she received her Masters of Education. She taught school in Wrens, Gainesville City School, and Royston Elementary School. Miss Brown was a member of the Franklin County Educators Association and a lifelong member of the Georgia Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of the Royston Baptist Church.
Miss Brown was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Brown; and brother, Asa Vandiver Brown Sr.
Survivors include nephews and spouses, Asa V. Brown Jr. and Sylvia Brown, Royston, and James D. and Flo Brown, Dewy Rose; nieces, Martha Mary Ann Stephens and Linda August, both of Jasper; great-nieces and nephews, Kristin Brown, Amy Flowers, Claire Lively, Wil Brown and Joe Brown; great-nephews, Carter and Ethan Lively.
Graveside services were held Monday, December 15, at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Royston with the Revs. Byron Greene and David White officiating.

Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, was in charge of arrangements.
