Omer Allan Poe, 66, of Commerce, died Friday, December 12, 2008, at Athens Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness. He was a machinist by trade and a pianist by the “grace of God.”
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Scott Poe, Commerce; a son, Clayton Allan Poe, Commerce; daughter and son-in-law, April Suzanne and Christopher Gerald Davidson, Commerce; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca Lunez and Nehemias Yamil Fonseca, Commerce; two grandsons, Jonah Clayton Poe and Elijah George Allan Poe; and two granddaughters, Samantha Suzanne Davidson and Kara Nicole Davidson; two aunts, Alice Martin and Gladys Marlowe, both of Commerce; and several cousins.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 15, at the Redeemed Baptist Church with the Revs. Phil Parks, Dayton Logan and Matthew Calbert officiating. Burial was in the Grey Hill Cemetery.
Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.
