Syble Martin

Syble Saxon Martin, 80, of Homer, died Thursday, December 11, 2008, at BJC Medical Center in Commerce.

Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Annie Sue Nunn Saxon. She was a member of Homer Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Martin Sr.; and grandson, Greg Roberts.

Survivors include a son, Tommy Martin Jr., Homer; daughters, Angie Redmon and Debbie Brown, both of Commerce, Judy Turpin, Forest Park, Brenda Roberts, Homer; sister, Betty Minish Brock, Danielsville; grandchildren, Keith and Ashley Turpin, both of Locust Grove, Michael, Gary Brown, Erin and Eric Redmon, all of Commerce, and Shane Roberts, Homer; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 13, at 1 p.m., at the Homer Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Crabbe officiating. Burial will be in the Banks Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.
