Robert Ford Caudell, 91, of Toccoa, died Thursday, December 11, 2008, at Stephens County Hospital.
Born on March 28, 1917, in Banks County, he was the son of the late Powell G. “P.G.” Caudell Sr. and Gladys Bell Caudell. He was a member of Toms Creek Baptist Church, the Daniel Sunday School Class, and the Morning Coffee Club, as long as he was able. He was retired from Coats and Clark and was also employed with LeTourneau for a short time. He also worked at Taylor Construction Company, and was a veteran, having served in the United States Army during World War II, as a sergeant in the medical corp. Mr. Caudell was preceded in death by brothers, Sebren Caudell and Talmadge Caudell.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Pulliam Caudell, Toccoa; sisters, Monta Meeler, Homer, Marie Wilkinson and Bobbie Taylor, both of Baldwin, Marilyn Caldwell, Chamblee; brother, P.G. Caudell Jr., Homer; sisters-in-law, Dorothy C. Caudell, Eustis, Fla., and Ruth Caudell, Ellijay; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 13, in the chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Revs. Wayne Marcus and Jerrell Beatty officiating. Burial will be in Toms Creek Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the mortuary Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
