Ruth Freeman Reed, 88, of Commerce, formerly of Pendergrass, died Wednesday, December 10, 2008.
Born on March 12, 1920, in White County, she was the daughter of the late Gus and Minnie Freeman. She was retired from the poultry industry and was a member of Pendergrass Baptist Church. Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Reed; three sisters; and two brothers.
Survivors include sisters, Vannie Hix, Jefferson, Annie Mae McDonald, Pendergrass; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 13, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. William Whitfield officiating. Burial will be in the Pendergrass Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, December 12, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, is in charge of arrangements.
