Silas “S.R.” Ruben Miller, 74, of Commerce, died Wednesday, December 3, 2008, at BJC Hospital in Commerce, following an extended illness.
Born in Hall County, he was the son of the late Phillip Ann and Dolly Catherine Miller. He was retired from construction and was a member of Whole Word Ministry in Dahlonega.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Miller, Commerce; sons, Darryl Miller, Commerce, Tommy Miller, Cleveland; daughters, Angela McDougald and Kathryn Ford, both of Commerce, Diane Massey, Maysville, Regina Tiller, Danielsville; brothers, William Allen Miller, Lula, Thurman Miller, Gainesville; sisters, Ann Howard, Marietta, Flora Ellen Smith, Gainesville, Estelle Hendrix, Lula, and Inell Scott, Gainesville; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, December 5, in the chapel of Ward’s Funeral Home with the Revs. Eugene Turner, Wanda Turner, Jimmy Tiller and Evangelist Jerry Massey officiating. Burial was in Springway Baptist Church Cemetery.
Ward’s Funeral Home, Gainesville, was in charge of arrangements.
