HOSCHTON - Nonnie Sue Payne, 72, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Rev. Charles Payne; parents, Jim and Edna Roberts Higgins; sister, Nell Gilleland; and brother, Waymon Higgins.
Survivors include her daughter, Sheila Payne, Hoschton; brother and sister-in-law, Grady and Rosa Higgins, Winder; sister and brother-in-law, Lona and Kenneth Thompson, Lawrenceville; sister-in-law, Lottie Higgins, Dahlonega; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Mrs. Payne was born April 26, 1944, in Duluth. She was retired in customer service and a member of the Peoples Baptist Church in Jefferson. She was known for her homemade banana pudding and homemade fudge. She loved going to church, crocheting and always doing for others. She loved her God and family and was loved by all.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 2, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with the Revs. Terry Hagwood and Jackie Payne officiating. Interment will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 1832 Pleasant Hill Road, Duluth, GA 30136. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, September 1, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
