‘Mike’ Stewart

James Michael “Mike” Stewart, 47, of Cornelia, died Monday, June 2, 2008, at his residence, following an extended illness.

Born in Stephens County on December 22, 1960, he was the son of Sara Stewart Shore of Cornelia, and was Baptist. He had been employed with American Bedding as a truck driver, and was a veteran, having served his country in the National Guard.

Survivors in addition to his mother, include a sister and brother-in-law, Michelle and Darrell Dodd, Clermont; special aunt, Midge Ledford, Clarkesville; special friends, Dennis and Kathy King, Alto, and Roger Stewart, Clarkesville; and nephews, Conner and Casey Dodd.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 5, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Denver Gunn officiating. Burial will be in Level Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. The family is at the residence.
