Rashe Walter “Ray” Stephens Jr., 67, of Peachtree City, died Wednesday, December 3, 2008.
Born in Jefferson, he was the son of Rashe Walter Stephens Sr. and Ruthie Studivant. He was retired from Norfolk Southern Corporation.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Judith “Judy” Stephens, Peachtree City; daughter, Cynthia M. Stephens Davis, Loganville; sons, Warren Craig Stephens, College Park, Rashe Walker Stephens III, Arlington, Va.; sister-in-law, Laverne Sawyer Hicks, Birmingham, Ala.; grandchildren, Brittney David, Briana Davis, Tierra Rashelle Stephens; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 7, at 1 p.m., in the chapel of Parrott Funeral Home with Dr. George Dillard officiating. Burial will be in Paradise AME Cemetery located on the corner of Hoschton St. and Lawrenceville St. in Jefferson at 3 p.m. with Randy Studivant officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 9, for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Piedmont Fayette Hospital, Attn: Development Office, 1255 Hwy. 54 West, Fayetteville, Ga. 30214.
Parrott Funeral Home, Fairburn, is in charge of arrangements.
