Rev. Luther Campbell
Rev. Luther Clinton Campbell, 79, of Lula, died Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, following an extended illness.
Rev. Campbell was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Campbell; daughter, Linda Faye Campbell; and grandchildren, Benji Ferguson and Patience Whitfield.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Randall and Renay Campbell, Lula, Charles and Theresa Campbell, Alto; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Billy Whitfield, Libby and Gary Tanner, Betty and Kenneth Parson, all of Gillsville; brothers, Roger Campbell and Jessie Campbell, both of Commerce, Homer Campbell, Baldwin; sisters, Lucille Rigsby, Lula, and Mattie Carter, Murrayille; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and god children, George and Cathy Holleger, Gainesville.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 6, at 2 p.m., at Silver Shoals Baptist Church with the Revs. Joel Shadburn, Dennis Taylor, Clarence Reynolds, Roy Clark and Trent Campbell officiating, with the Revs. Perry Smith, Tim Beasly and Swayne Cochran officiating at the graveside.
Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
