Reba Mangum Brown, 99, of the Hollingsworth Community, Alto, died Thursday, November 27, 2008, at the Oaks @ Scenic View Nursing Center, following an extended illness.
Born in Franklin County on January 14, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Hattie Hooper Mangum. She was a homemaker, a member of the AARP Senior Citizens, and was a faithful member of the Line Baptist Church. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Paul David Brown Sr.; son, Paul David Brown Jr.; infant daughter, Cleo Brown; and son-in-law, Brannon Caudell.
Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Betty Caudell, Mt. Airy, Bobbie and Ralph Dalton, Alto; grandchildren, Michael Caudell, New Ellington, S.C., Freddie Dalton, Carnesville, Tim Brown, Kimberly Marshall, both of Anniston, Ala.; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Sunday, November 30, at the Line Baptist Church with the Revs. Kenneth McEntire and Garry Garrison officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
