Martha Jean Boyd-Goins, 75, of Statham, died Thursday, May 8, 2008.
Born in Barrow County, she was the daughter of the late Willie B. Boyd Sr. and Pearl Carlyle Boyd. She was a member of the New Pentecost United Methodist Church, a member of the Statham Chapter Order of Eastern Star for 33 years and was Worthy Matron, a member of Winder Pilot Club, and member of the Red Hat Society. She was a 1949 graduate of Statham High School and was employed by the Department of Labor for 28 years. Mrs. Boyd-Goins was preceded in death by brothers, Billy Boyd and Jamie Boyd.
Survivors include her husband, Mayford Goins, Statham; sons, James Clark Broaddus, Louisville, Ky., and Raymond Randolph Broaddus, Longwood, Fla.; daughter, Vikki Lynn Broaddus Panzera, Lexington, Ky.; two step-sons; and three step-daughters; three grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Marjorie Hutchinson, Statham; two nieces and cousins.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 10, at Smith Memory Chapel with the Rev. Billy Pittman officiating. Burial was in Barrow Memorial Gardens.
