James Phillips, 75, of Hoschton, died Monday, November 24, 2008.

A native of Barrow County, he was the son of the late Frank and Susie Garrett Phillips. He was a retired carpenter and was Baptist.

Survivors include children, Susan Pugh, Hoschton, Sara Jarrard, Braselton, Scotty Phillips, Pendergrass, and Sharon Holmes, Commerce; sisters, Edith Gaillard and Nikki Shannon, both of Jefferson, and Brenda Lott, Braselton; brothers, Ralph Phillips, Melford Phillips, Everett Phillips, Sam Phillips and Jimmy Phillips, all of Winder; friend, Sybil Phillips, Jefferson; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 26, at 6:30 p.m., in the chapel of Carter Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Coley officiating.

Carter Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements.
