Irelle Thompson, 83 of Madison County, died Monday, November 24, 2008, at the Gwinnett Extended Care Center in Lawrenceville.
Born in Madison County on July 21, 1925, she was the daughter of the late William Cleveland and Evie Ann Scarboro James. She was a homemaker and member of the New Hope Worship Center. Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by brothers, Carris, Reppard, Felton, Odelle, Lee Doyle and Otis James; and a sister, Bertie Macomson.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Danny W. and Nancy Thompson, Flowery Branch; daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda Karen Thompson, Athens, and Tammy and Don Fleming; a sister, Annie Lou Strickland, Canon; grandchildren and spouses, Allen and Brooke Thompson, Eric and Natasha Thompson, Shannon and Laura Thompson, Amy Fleming, and Julia Fleming; great-grandchild, Ali Thompson; and a sister-in-law, Velma Thompson, Royston.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 26, at 3:30 p.m., at the New Hope Worship Center with the Rev. Dennis Kesler officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday.
Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, is in charge of arrangements.
