Grover Junior Adams, 76, of Commerce, died Sunday, November 23, 2008, at the Brown Convalescent Center in Commerce.
Born on October 30, 1932 in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Grover Lee “Pap” and Jewell Ballenger Adams. He was a retired logger and was a veteran, having served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was Baptist. Mr. Adams was preceded in death by sons, Mike Adams and Frankie Ivester.
Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Danny and Shelia Adams Fowler, and Deborah Sosby, all of Toccoa; sons, Charlie and Bobby Ivester, Toccoa, and Albert Ivester, Atlanta; sister, Deanie Harper, Royston; brothers, Kenneth “Shorty” Adams and Donald Adams, both of Toccoa, and Charlie Adams, Martin; longtime friend, Joyce Brock and her daughter, Tammy; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 25, at 2 p.m., at B.D. Ginn Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jerome Hill officiating. Burial will be at Middle River Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
