‘Mama Dean’ Bowen

Martha “Mama Dean” Bowen, 95, of Lawrenceville, died Friday, November 21, 2008.

Born in Jackson County, she was a member of New Canaan Baptist Church in Lawrenceville and was an Eastern Star. Mrs. Bowen was preceded in death by her husbands, B.V. Bowen and Joe Braselton; daughter, Ann Evans; and a son, the Rev. Jerry Braselton.

Survivors include a step-son, Doug and Katherine Bowen, Lawrenceville; son-in-law, Harry Evans, Loganville; daughter-in-law, Sandra Braselton, Lawrenceville; grandchildren, Scott Evans, Shane Evans, both of Stockbridge, Beth and Pastor Phil Robertson, Jody Braselton, Matt Bowen, Greg Bowen, all of Lawrenceville, Kristy and Ronnie Palmer, Hodges, Ala.; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Sunday, November 23, in the Lawrenceville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Soop officiating. Burial was in Gwinnett Memorial Park, Lawrenceville.

Tim Stewart Funeral Home, Lawrenceville, was in charge of arrangements.
