JEFFERSON - Paul Banister Gurley, 90, entered into rest Saturday, September 5, 2015.

Mr. Gurley was born in Ila, the son of the late Charlie and Estelle Cook Gurley. He was retired from the Textile Industry and was a member of the Baptist denomination. Mr. Gurley was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Shipes Gurley; daughter, Betty Ann Gurley; son, Paul Eugene Gurley; brothers; J.T., Lester, Alan, Charles and Junior Gurley; and sisters, Gladys Williamson, Bertha Kitchens, and Lois Gurley.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Canup, Winder, and Jonnie Mae Gurley, Jefferson; two sons, Edward Gurley, Jefferson, and Billy Gurley and his wife, Annie, Jefferson; sister, Janette Gurley, Alma; five grandchildren, Bobby Gaines, Marie Howard, Paula Gurley, Lisha Hardy, and Karen Gurley; and five great-grandchildren, Caleb and Camren Hardy, Kacy and Colton Morgan, and Thomas Paul Evans.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 10, from the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Pastor Shane Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Arcade Cemetery. Gentlemen honored as pallbearers are Bo Shipes, Caleb Hardy, Colton Morgan, Camren Hardy, Thomas Evans, and Scott Hardy. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, September 9.

Those desiring may make memorials to the charitable organization of their choice in memory of Mr. Paul B. Gurley.
