Alfreda McNabb

Alfreda Nix McNabb, 81, of Clarkesville, died Sunday, November 16, 2008, at St. Mary’s Hospice in Athens.

Born on June 17, 1927, in Habersham County, she was the daughter of the late A.C. “Arnie” and Oma Robertson Nix McNabb. She was retired from Scovill Fasteners and was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She was a beloved mother, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and will be greatly missed by her family, loved ones stated.
Survivors include her husband, T.J. McNabb, Clarkesville; a son, Richard McNabb, Clarkesville; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Jimmy Stowe, Pendergrass; brother, Hubert Nix, Carnesville; sister, Dolly Owensby, Chatsworth; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 19, at 2 p.m., at the Hillside Memorial Chapel in Clarkesville with the Revs. Paris Whitworth and David Garrison officiating. Burial will be in Fairfield Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 18, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home, 5495 Hwy. 197 S., Clarkesville.
