Barbara Christine LaCount, 47, of Athens, died Thursday, November 6, 2008, at her residence.

Born in Lapeer, Mich., she was the daughter of John and Barbara Mallichek of Colbert.

Survivors in addition to her parents, include her husband, Larry LaCount; and a son, Mike LaCount, Athens.

Memorial contributions may be made to Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter, 1888 Colbert Danielsville Rd., Danielsville, Ga. 30633.

Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, was in charge of arrangements.
