Robert Smith

Robert Luther Smith, 78, of Hull, died Tuesday, November 11, 2008.

Born in Commerce, he was the son of the late John F. and Viola Smith. He was an active member of Hull Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and was a member of the Logan Sunday School Class. He was retired from the University of Georgia, and was a Korean Conflict veteran. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by sisters, Merle Wheeler and Pearl Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Mazie Wood Smith; a daughter and son-in-law, Patsy Smith and Tony Fullwood; son and daughter-in-law, Robert Timothy and Tess Kleinpeter Smith; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 14, at 2 p.m., at Hull Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Crowe officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, November 13, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
