Agata Messina Iannuzzi, 89, of Braselton, died Sunday, June 1, 2008.
She was born on December 24, 1918, in Sicily, Italy, the daughter of the late Tommaso and Rosaria Azzarelli Messina. She was a homemaker and worked for a short while at Fawn Togs in Braselton. She was a member of the St. Michael Catholic Church in Gainesville. Mrs. Iannuzzi was preceded in death by her husband, Francesco Iannuzzi; and a son, Roberto Iannuzzi.
Survivors include children, Mario (Giovanna) Iannuzzi, Armando (Anna) Iannuzzi and Enrico (Mariella) Iannuzzi, all of Sicily, Italy, Liliana (Jimmy) Mayberry, Braselton, Rosanna (Michael) Mauldin, Hoschton, Claudio (Lynda) Iannuzzi, Chestnut Mt.; sister, Marie Messina, Sicily, Italy; brother, Salvatore Messina, Sicily, Italy; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, June 4, at 2 p.m., in the St. Michael Catholic Church in Gainesville with Father Thaddeus Rudd serving as celebrant. The visitation will be held from 12 noon to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, before the service in the Church. Burial will be in the Hoschton City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Jackson County, P.O. Box 567, Jefferson, Ga. 30549.
