Sue Kennedy

Sue Grier Kennedy, 75, of Commerce, died Friday, November 7, 2008, at Hill Haven Nursing Home.

Born in Hall County, she was the daughter of the late Hoke Smith and Dorothy Hulsey Grier. She was a special education teacher with Banks County High School and was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Kennedy was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Kennedy.

Survivors include sons, Tommy Kennedy and David Kennedy, both of Commerce; daughter, Dorthea Kennedy, Athens; brothers, Zach Grier and Andy Grier, both of Holly Springs; sisters, Mary Thomas and Joan Wiley, both of Clermont, Linda Oliver and Lanna Black, both of Holly Springs; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services were held Sunday, November 9, at Holly Springs Baptist Church cemetery with the Rev. Terrell Simmons officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.
