Mattye Hodges Wingo, 83, of Statham, died Thursday, November 6, 2008.
Born in Oconee County, she was the daughter of the late James Y. and Ruth Autry Hodges. She was a homemaker and a member of Hebron Christian Church. Mrs. Wingo was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Taylor Wingo; and a brother, Donald Hodges.
Survivors include sons, Jack Hodges Wingo, McDonough, Donald Wingo, Statham; and a daughter, Shirley Ruth Coleman, Statham; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Ralph Brooks, Tallahassee, Fla.; and sisters-in-law, Maud Hodges and Jo Huff.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 8, at 2 p.m., at Hebron Christian Church with the Rev. Danny Shoemake officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, November 7, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
