‘Goot’ Abbott

Glendal “Goot” Abbott, 80, of Hull, died Wednesday, October 29, 2008.

He was born on November 9, 1927, the son of the late Jessie and Bertha Abbott. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Abbott was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lois Abbott; a son, Michael Glen Abbott; daughter, Marcia Lynn Abbott; and a brother, Marvin Ray Abbott.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Teresa Abbott, Patrick and Sandy Abbott, and Andy and Tracy Abbott; daughters and son-in-law, Lisa Collins and Sheryl and Hank Rzasa; brother and sister-in-law, Dudley and Sharon Abbott; grandchildren, Jennifer (Steve) Walsh, Hannah Rzasa, Jordan Abbott, Daniel (Amber) Jennings, Chelsea Abbott and Nikki Abbott; great-grandchildren, Makay Walsh and Morgan Walsh; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held Sunday, November 2, at Hull Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Seymore officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville, was in charge of arrangements.
