Hilda Bryant

Hilda Louise Hendrix Bryant, 89, of Royston, died Wednesday, October 22, 2008, at the Hart Care Center in Hartwell.

She was born in Hart County on April 25, 1919, the daughter of the late Jim and Clara Bell Bowen Hendrix. She was a homemaker and a member of the Goldmine Homemakers Club. She was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church and attended the Redwine United Methodist Church. Mrs. Bryant was preceded in death by her husband, Artis Radford Bryant; and a daughter, Carolyn Strickland.

Survivors include sons, David A. Bryant and Billy R. Bryant, both of Royston; daughters, Susan Whitmire, Eagle Grove Community, Diane Strickland, Hartwell, and Janice M. Bryant, Royston; brother, Fred Lee Hendrix, Canon; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, October 24, at Bethany Baptist Church with the Revs. Jerry Durham and Meg Morrison officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Grandsons served as pallbearers.

Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, was in charge of arrangements.
