STATHAM - Dolvin Monroe Thigpen, 76, left this world for a better place on Tuesday, April 22, 2014.
He was loved and will be missed dearly by his family, his wife of 56 years, Livinia Thigpen, and his children and grandchildren. He was proud to have been an officer in the United States Navy and to have worked for the U.S. Government for 36 years. Mr. Thigpen was preceded in death by a son, Steven Thigpen of Auburn.
Survivors in addition to his wife, include six children, Dolvin Thigpen Jr. (Lora), Dacula, Kathy Day, Hoschton, Charles Thigpen, Blairsville, Cindy Davila (Jorge), Winder, Sandy George (John), Winder, and Dorothy Strickland, Hilliard, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
