CORNELIA - Bobbie Sue Brock, 80, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014.
Born on April 19, 1933, in Banks County, she was a daughter of the late Ben David and Lizzie Carlan Nunnally. Mrs. Brock was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Baldwin. She worked as a seamstress with Blue Bell Manufacturing in Homer for many years, and then later retired from Mt. Vernon Mills with 20 years of service. She loved working with pottery, and at age 70 began taking lessons from Dirt Bag Pottery. She was known as “The Butterfly Lady” and signed her pottery with a trademark butterfly.
Mrs. Brock was preceded in death by the father of her children, Ezra B. Brock, Sr.; son, David Roger Brock; brother, Thomas Nunnally; and sister, Mary Dills.
Survivors include a daughter, Diane Higgins, Cornelia; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy Jane and Neal Ferguson, Baldwin; son and daughter-in-law, George and Karen Brock, Lula; sons, Ezra Berry Brock, Jr., Homer, and Condus Brock, Mt. Airy; brothers and sisters-in-law, R.T. and Betty Jean Nunnally, Douglas, and Roy and Pat Nunnally, Colbert; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with the Rev. Jimmy Maness officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery in Baldwin. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 14, at the funeral home.
