Billy Martin, 71, of Cornelia, died Monday, October 20, 2008, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, following a sudden illness.
Born in Stephens County on August 4, 1937, he was the son of the late Jack O. and Velma Sherriff Martin.
Mr. Martin was the brother of Jack, James and Kenneth Martin, Tina Gee, all of Jefferson, and Wanda Martin, Commerce and Sue Martin, Danielsville.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 23, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home. Burial will be at Woodbine Cemetery in Jefferson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, October 22, from 6 to 8 p.m.
McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home, Cornelia, is in charge of arrangements.
