HULL - Rita Joyce Alewine, 56, died Saturday February 22, 2014.
A native of Clarke County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Burkhalter. Mrs. Alewine was owner and operator of Buck Alewines Towing and Pit Stop Gas. She was a beloved wife, mama, and nona to her five precious angel babies that she adored. She was a precious daughter, sister, and friend to many. Mrs. Alewine was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Buck Alewine; children, Missy (Andy) Collier and Mitch (Christy) Alewine; mother, Shirley Brown Burkhalter; sisters, Becky (Randy) Jones and Carol Lyle; brothers, Charles (Dixie) Burkhalter, George (Vickie) Burkhalter, Jeff (Donna) Burkhalter, and Rex (Stacey) Burkhalter; and grandchildren, Colby and Brady Joe Collier, Ainsley, Alston, and Ava Grace Alewine.
Graveside services were held Monday February 24, at Evergreen Memorial Park. The Rev. Larry Dyer officiated. Pallbearers were Blake Jones, Ross, Josh, Brent, Ethan, Nick, and Douglas Burkhalter.
Memorials may be made to the Andy Collier Benefit Fund at the First Madison Bank and Trust.
Smith Funeral Home, Winder, was in charge of arrangements.
