HOMER - Ida Ruth Parks, 86, died Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Mrs. Parks was born in Rocky Mount, Ga., the daughter of the late Charles Marshall and Minnie Lee Rowe Garner. She was a homemaker and attended Ridgeway Baptist Church. Mrs. Parks was preceded in death by her husband, William Howard Parks.
Survivors include daughters, Gail Wilson, Homer, Regina Fincher, Juliette, and Terri Parks, Commerce; sons, Charlie Parks, Jefferson, and Chris Parks, Commerce; brother, Travis Garner, Newnan; sister, Nadine Thompson, Woodbury; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 20, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Manus officiating with the interment following at Sherwood Memorial Park Jonesboro. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, February 19, from 6 to 9 p.m.
