‘Tunney’ Lawson

The Rev. G.A. “Tunney” Lawson, 83, of Gainesville, died Monday, October 20, 2008, following an extended illness.

He was born on May 10, 1925, in Hall County, the son of the late Irvin L. and Bessie Kemp Lawson.

Mr. Lawson was the grandfather of David and Clara Martin of Homer.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 22, at 2 p.m., at New Bridge Baptist Church in Gainesville. Rev. Lawson will lie in state at the church from 1:30 until 2:00 p.m. the day of the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, October 21, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
