HOSCHTON - Joseph Walton Hagan, 72, formerly of Statesboro, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2014.
Joseph was a United States Air Force Veteran. He was an engineer with General Motors for 33 years, where he received various awards. His years at General Motors included work at the Lakewood Manufacturing Plant, General Motors Plant in Doraville, and later transferring to the Saturn Plant in Springhill, Tenn. From there he worked at various General Motor Plants in Detroit, Mich. and then retired from the General Motors Corvette Plant in Bowling Green, Ky.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Armes Hagan, Hoschton; son, Michael Allen Hagan and wife Jan, Dacula; daughter, Karen Lyn Hagan and husband Joe Dale, Macon; stepsons, William Russell Stewart and wife Kelley, N.C., Charles Robert Stewart and wife Amy, North Carolina; sister, Nell Batchelor and husband Robert of Eatonton; and grandchildren, Olivia, Ashton, Russell, Rylie and Skyler.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 15, at Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church, 4 South Zetterower Ave., Statesboro, GA. Officiating will be Chaplain Jerry Newsome. Burial services will be held at Eastside Cemetery with United States Air Force Honors.
