‘Tommy’ Ward

Clay Thompson “Tommy” Ward, 72, of Hull, died Saturday, October 18, 2008.

A native of Clarke County, he was the son of the late Clay Thompson and Elizabeth Rhodes Ward Sr. He owned and operated a cleaning service before retirement, and was a member of the White Hall Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Annelle Strickland Ward, Hull; a son and daughter-in-law, Lewis Clay and Betty Ward, Hull; sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Gene Fields, Winterville; grandchildren, Jonathan Clay Ward, Elijah Mott and Victoria Annelle Ward.

Graveside services were held Monday, October 20, at Evergreen Memorial Park with the Rev. Buford Lockman officiating.

Bernstein Funeral Home, Athens, was in charge of arrangements.
