WINDER – Robert “Snake” Hardy Jr., 70, entered into rest Saturday, January 4, 2014, at the Winder Health Care Center.
He retired after 37 years of service as a dispatcher with the Georgia State Patrol. He was a 1962 graduate of Winder-Barrow High School, and was a member of Union Baptist Church and the Georgia Sheriffs Association. He was a member of the Winder Moose Lodge, where he was a three time past governor.
Survivors include a sister, Diane (Lindsey) Greeson, Winder; niece, Stephanie McFerrin; nephew, Brent Greeson; two great nieces; and a great nephew.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 6, at 2 p.m., in the Smith Memory Chapel. Burial will be in the Bethlehem Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Winder Health Care Center, 263 East May St., Winder, GA 30680.
