JEFFERSON - Mildred Louise McKinley, 84, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2013.
She was born Mildred Louise McWethy at Anadarko, Okla., and was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church in Marlow, Okla. She was married to Paul McKinley for 51 years. Louise, as she was known by family and friends, was a professor of consumer science at Cameron University in Lawton, Okla. She received her doctorate degree in education from Oklahoma State University in 1976. Louise was known for doing things her way. She also loved gardening, reading, cooking, travel, and spending time with her grandsons Tyler and Christopher. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul McKinley; son, Brian McKinley; and brother, Fred McWethy.
Survivors include a son, Tracy McKinley and wife, Linda, Jefferson; sister, Bina Carter, Yukon, Okla.; grandsons, Tyler McKinley, Jefferson, Christopher McKinley and wife, Dr. Bonnie McKinley, Ohio; and great-grandson, Lance McKinley; Dr. Ron White, close personal friend, Conyers; and several nieces and nephews.
Lawson Funeral Home, Hoschton, is in charge of arrangements.
