JEFFERSON - Walter Theron Hall, 94, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2013.
Mr. Hall was born in Tift County, the son of the late Frank and Lily Easom Hall. He was retired from Pioneer Plastics, where he was a business manager. His second career was cattle farming. He was a member of the Galilee Christian Church and served on the board of the Jackson County Volunteer Fire Department. After high school, he moved to Sapelo Island, where he was the assistant postmaster. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Japan and the Pacific during World War II. He graduated with honors, with an accounting degree from the University of Georgia. Mr. Hall was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Merle Hall; and sisters, Francis Hall Harrison and Bertha Mae Hollon.
Survivors include his wife, June Marie Lawrence Hall, Jefferson; daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Butch Willbanks, Loganville; son and daughter-in-law, Walter T. Jr. "Chip" and Joannie Hall, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and four grandchildren, Erin Willbanks, Patrick Willbanks, Holly Hall and Harrison Hall; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 23, at 2 p.m. in the Galilee Christian Church with Ministers Nick Vipperman and Tom Plank officiating. The burial will follow in the Galilee Christian Church Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church.
